Xiaomi Teases Redmi Smartphone with Pop-up Selfie Camera
Just three days back, we mentioned about how Xiaomi was teasing about a smartphone with Snapdragon 700 series SoC. Now, Xiaomi has again teased about a smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. A pop-up selfie camera is becoming the norm in 2019 with a lot of brands opting for it. Even Chinese manufacturer Huawei recently opted for pop-up selfie camera with their Huawei P Smart Z which is launching soon. And now, Redmi is also trying to go with the latest trend and thus they have posted a teaser on Weibo of an upcoming device with a pop-up selfie camera.
Recently, as I mentioned, Xiaomi’s Global VP Manu Kumar Jain teased about a smartphone which as per him will come with the latest Snapdragon 730 or 730G SoC. The new teaser also looks to be of the same phone. It is also worth mentioning that the teaser video has been posted from the Redmi page on Weibo. Other than the teaser of the new smartphone, the video included the trailer of Avengers: Endgame and other Xiaomi smartphones like Redmi 7, Redmi Note7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 730 and 730G along with Snapdragon 665 a few weeks back. These are based on 8nm technology and comes with octa-core Kryo 470 cores. It is also worth mentioning, the Snapdragon 730G has been used in the recently launched Samsung Galaxy A80. The device is however yet to launch in India.
Due to Redmi opting for a pop-up selfie camera users will be getting a huge screen to body ratio. We expect the screen to body ratio to be somewhere around 90% or a little more. This will ensure good movie and gaming experience for the customers. However, the reliability of pop-up selfie cameras is not yet hugely tested. So what do you think of the device and it’s pop-up selfie camera? Let us know in the comments.
