WhatsApp Will No Longer Support Old Phones From 2020 Onwards

Yes, WhatsApp took a “tough decision” and ready to abandon millions of users in the coming days. A page from the New York Post reveals that WhatsApp will stop working in some days from February 1, 2020, onwards.

Forgot WhatsApp If Not Update

At first, WhatsApp will no longer work in iPhone devices with iOS 8 or earlier versions. Also, they can’t able to create a new account or verify it again. The WhatsApp support page says “For the best experience, we recommend using the latest version of iOS available for your smartphone. Visit the Apple Support website. This is how to update your iPhone software“. So, the only solution is to upgrade to iOS 9 version.

On the other side, Android devices with version 2.3.7 (Gingerbread) or earlier versions will no longer support WhatsApp. For a kind notice, users with the Android 4.0 version can enjoy the service. Make sure, Windows users must forget WhatsApp from December onwards.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp reported that it had 1.5 billion active monthly users. So even losing a few million will still have a very nice number of subscribers.

So, if you want to enjoy WhatsApp, update your smartphones with the latest versions. And if iPhone can’t be upgraded to iOS 9, or Android phones can’t be upgraded to version 4.0, then its time to buy a new device. As for Windows Phone users, it’s really a thing of the past.
