Vivo APEX 2020: The First Smartphone With Camera Under The Screen
Vivo is trying so hard to make its smartphones much better. In 2018, they launched Vivo Apex with a motorized camera and last year they launched Vivo Apex 2 without front camera or ports. This year, they come up with a new Vivo APEX 2020, the first smartphone with a camera under the screen.
With curved edges, Vivo Apex 2020 wraps its screen around the side. Like its previous model, this third concept of Vivo’s prototype has no notch, no motorized cameras, and no ports. The only difference is its front camera hidden under the screen.
VIVO APEX 2020 SPECS:
- Display: 6.45 “full HD CURVED AMOLED Screen
- CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865
- RAM: 12 GB RAM
- Internal memory: 256/512 GB
- Rear camera: 16MP + 48MP
- Front camera: MP
- Connectivity: dual nano-SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 GPS, NFC

It is not the first time we talk about the cameras under the screen. OPPO and Xiaomi showed it to us last year, but Vivo has made the first complete prototype with its own name. Vivo Apex 2020 has a 16MP hidden front camera with additional 4MP to bring more quality.
Technically, it has a 6.45-inch screen with a resolution of 2330 x 1080 pixels. It has a virtual touch button to adjust the volume sounds. Obviously, there is no headphone jack and the only way to charge the terminal is wireless. Of course, with 60W wireless charging.
Coming to its camera, Vivo chooses a 48MP GIMBAL camera and a continuous 5x-7.5x optical zoom. Its Instant Photobomb Removal, capable of eliminating someone in real-time who spoils the photo.
Anyhow, Vivo Apex is just a conceptual prototype for now. Maybe, one can see its official launch in MWC 2020.
