Pixel 3 Owner gets 10 Pixel 3’s from Google Instead of Refund
A Pixel 3 owner has reportedly received 10 Pixel 3 devices from Google instead of a refund. As per reports, the user initially received one defective Google Pixel 3. Thus, he requested for a refund and returned the original Pixel 3 which was a white variant. However, instead of a full refund, Google only refunded the $80 of taxes. The man never received the original $900 refund which he should have got.
While the person was waiting to receive his money back, he ordered another Pixel 3. This time the device he ordered was a Not Pink variant. Ironically, this time instead of receiving one single Not Pink Pixel 3, he received 10 devices. It looks like, whoever was handling the order did some mistake and thus the person received 10 Pixel 3’s.
The total price of all the phones is $9000 (6,24,330 INR) which is a huge amount. Legally, as Google messed things up, Google can’t force the customer to return all 10 devices. However, as per the customer, he is willing to return the devices. Though, there’s a condition that he needs his original $900 back which he never received from Google for the defective phone.
The owner posted about the incident on Reddit (u/Cheetohz) and says he’ll try to return the extra 9 phones via $1000 COD (for his due amount). Although if the shipment fails he says he will be selling all the phones to make up his amount. Here is what Cheetohz said in his Reddit post,
Well, I want to do the right thing and return them. But I’m not willing to do so until my refund is processed properly. If I don’t get the proper support here, I’ll have to attempt to return the extra 9 phones via $1000 COD. If the shipment is rejected, I’ll be selling them to recoup my money that wasn’t refunded. Again, not the right thing to do but I’ve run out of patience and options.
What is funny about all this thing is that you can’t even order more than two phones from Google Store. There’s a cap. So, someone might have messed up things really bad. Well, it can be a perfect example of Karma. What do you think?
