Choose your Exchange settings

There are a few things to consider when choosing your Exchange settings for Outlook on Android.

First, you’ll need to decide which account you want to use. If you have multiple Exchange accounts, you can choose which one you want to use with Outlook on Android.

Next, you’ll need to select the type of synchronization you want. There are three options: two-way synchronization, one-way synchronization from server to device, and one-way synchronization from device to server.

Two-way synchronization is the most common type and is recommended if your Exchange account supports it. This type of sync will keep your mailbox synchronized between your device and the server. One-way synchronization is typically used if you only need to access your mail on your device and don’t need to keep a copy on the server.

Finally, you’ll need to choose how often you want synchronization to occur. The options are as follows: automatically (the default), every 5 minutes, every 15 minutes, every 30 minutes, and manually.

If you’re not sure which settings to choose, we recommend contacting your Exchange administrator for guidance.

Tap

Assuming you’ve already downloaded the Outlook app from the Google Play Store, open the app and sign in with your Microsoft account. If you don’t have a Microsoft account, tap Create one! and follow the prompts to set one up.

Once you’re signed in, you’ll be asked to provide some information about your account. Tap each field and enter the relevant information (e.g., your name, email address, password).

When you’re finished, tap Sign in.

Outlook will now begin syncing your account data. This process may take a few minutes, depending on how much data needs to be synced. Once it’s finished, you’ll be able to access your email messages, calendar events, and more from within the Outlook app.
